Chamber, schools work together to build a better workforce

As part of its Business Education Network, the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau teamed up with the Hastings High School College & Career Department to hold an Employability Skills Workshop this spring. With the help of Intek Plastics training team, students heard from local employers on how dependability, adaptability, problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills become important in the workplace. Speakers were from Intek Plastics, Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center, Precision Landscaping & Construction Inc, Hastings Family Service, Craig Beissel- Axia Home Loans, Innovative Surfaces and Benedictine Living Community-Regina.
