Philip Oscar Savoie, 84, went to be with the Lord on Good Friday, March 29, 2024, surrounded by family at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. A person of tremendous faith, Phil was first and foremost a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Phil was born October 19, 1939, in Hastings, MN to Edward and Marie (Marcotte) Savoie and was the 8th of 9 children. His deceased siblings are Angela, Rick (Joann), Mary (Harry Schoen), Bernie (Don Gundy), Muriel (Jim Heisler), and Jerry aka Zeke (Dar). He is survived by two older brothers, Paul (Myrna) of Seattle WA, and Ed (Mary Kay) of Woodbury, MN, and many nieces and nephews. He proudly served in both the United States Army and Navy and had a life-long love of the Blue Angels and WWII aircraft. Phil married Jean (Rother) on September 17, 1966, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings, MN. Throughout their loving 57-year marriage, Phil and Jean lived in seven states and had great adventures everywhere they called home. Phil was a manufacturing executive and worked for several companies throughout his career. He especially enjoyed his international work in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Ireland, and Japan. In retirement, Phil was an active community member serving with various committees and service organizations. Phil and Jean lived for 22 years in Westin Woods in Shoreview, MN and since 2022 lived at St. Therese Senior Living Community in Woodbury, MN. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Jean, his daughters Collette (Lisa Parziale) of Dallas, TX, Rebecca of Mendota Heights, MN, Pamela (Billy Martyn) of Aberdeen, SD, and Theresa (Bryan Guidry) of San Antonio, TX; and six grandchildren. The visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Odilia Catholic Church at 3495 North Victoria Street, Shoreview, MN.
