Raiders track sends 10 to the Hamline Elite Meet

Hastings track has been in top form this season, garnering attention for their outstanding performances. Recently, the Raiders showcased their prowess by sending 10 athletes to the prestigious Hamline Elite Meet, an invite-only event for the state's top track talents. Among those representing the Raiders were runners Lane Hoffman, Ellie Magnus, Carlee Kordosky, Sebastian Strauss, Gunner Hanstad, Payton Dean, Olyvia Erickson, Sienna Sanchez and Jared Hanson, with Lauren Whitfield earning the sole field invitation.

Here's a rundown of the events featuring Raiders athletes, in event order:
Individual Races:
Hoffman secured sixth place in the 100m sprint with a time of 10.84.
Magnus finished ninth in the 100m sprint, clocking in at 12.44.
Kordosky clinched second place in the 100m hurdles, setting a new school record with a time of 14.70.
Hoffman took eighth place in the 200m sprint with a time of 23.38.
Kordosky earned fourth place in the 300m hurdles, recording a time of 46.28.
Whitfield claimed eighth place in the discus throw, achieving a distance of 108 feet and 1 inch.
Relay Events:
The boys' 4x200 relay team of Strauss, Hanstad, Dean, and Hoffman secured fourth place with a time of 1:30.26.
The girls' 4x200 relay team of Erickson, Sanchez, Kordosky, and Magnus captured third place, also setting a new school record with a time of 1:44.23.
The boys' 4x400 relay team of Strauss, Hanson, Hanstad, and Dean finished third with a time of 3:28.67.
The highlight of the meet was the mixed 4x400 relay, a unique event exclusive to the Hamline Elite Meet. This race allows boys and girls who train together all season to compete as a team. Head Coach Jason Koch selected a lineup following a favorite Olympic order, with male, female, female and male runners. Strauss initiated the race, passing the baton to Magnus, who then handed it to Erickson for the third leg. Dean anchored the team, finishing the victory and setting both the meet and facility record with an impressive time of 3:40.68. The second-place team trailed nearly five seconds behind the Raiders.

The next opportunity to catch the Hastings Track Team will be when they host multiple schools on May 1, starting at 4:00 p.m. at Hastings High School.
