10 years ago THE HASTINGS STAR-GAZETTE March 8, 2012 Coming into view 10 years ago in an article by Jane Lightbourn, the search was on for a stolen sculpture. A T-Rex created by Dale Lewis and described as being “about three-and-a-half feet” tall composed of dinner utensils had gone missing, and Lewis wanted it back. “He’s light, but rugged,” Lewis was quoted as saying of T-Rex. “”His teeth are made of forks and his arms are goofy forks and butter knives.” Anyone with information on the whereabouts of T-Rex, was asked to call Hastings police. 30 years ago THE HASTINGS STAR-GAZETTE April 9, 1992 In the news from 30 years were reports of a movie theater planned for Hastings.The multi-screen venue was due to take the place of Top-Do-It in the Westview Shopping Center, Steve Eide reported, while the lumber company was to move to the industrial park.
