The Dakota County Historical Society is hosting Civil War Weekend at the LeDuc Historic Estate on Saturday September 7-8. This year’s theme is “Events of 1864.” The weekend will include infantry and artillery demonstrations, military drills for kids and a scavenger hunt to help visitors explore the event.
Other attractions include the "Professors Cabinet of Curiosities" museum, A Civil War Era Quilt display, A Victorian sewing bee, and weapons display. Period cooking demonstrations will occur throughout the weekend including bread making and jam and jelly contests.
Regular tours of the house will be available throughout the weekend in addition to a book sale, speakers, and music. Visitors are encouraged to come in historic dress if they so choose.
