Hazel Johnson, age 87, died suddenly on July 9, 2024. Hazel was born to Earl and Sarah Carpenter and grew up in the Isle, MN area. Hazel was one of eight children in the Carpenter family. She graduated from Isle High School in 1955.
Hazel had two daughters, DeDe and Niecy. She gave her all to the girls, even when times were tough. Hazel met Stanley and they married October 4th, 1984. They enjoyed the cabin in Annandale, fishing, snowmobiling and the cabin neighbors. Stanley preceded her in death in 2015.
Hazel was a realtor for 25+ years. In Annandale she sold a lot of families their first cabin. When they moved back to Hastings, she sold homes and land in the area. She enjoyed all her Edina Realty coworkers and made sure coffee was on every morning.
Since retiring she has enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids. Also loved gardening, cooking and always made sure all the departed family and friends had flowers at the cemetery.
Hazel will be missed by many, her neighbors, church ladies, family and friends. She is survived by daughters, DeDe (Dan) Truhler, Niecy (Randy) Brockman, grandchildren Ross Brockman and Carlee (Mark) Wetzel, and many nieces and nephews.
Per Hazel’s wishes, no public service will be held. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. The family will hold a private service celebrating her life.
