“My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying.” Proverbs 3:1-2

Thanks be to God our Savior Jesus Christ who carried our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother into her eternal Heavenly home on June 14, 2024. We will forever be grateful for her servant’s heart, nurturing spirit and quietly persistent efforts, from which we all have benefited greatly.

Marie was born in the small town of Manville, Alberta, Canada on an Irish dairy farm. After faithfully following God’s calling and pathway for 95 years, she passed away quietly under the excellent care of Guardian Angels Care Center Elk River, Minnesota. She attended music school in her younger years and was an accomplished pianist and singer. After meeting and marrying the love of her life, Lester Fair, the Lord led them into ministry at the Evangelical Free Church in Bock, MN. From there they moved to Richfield Evangelical Free Church, then to Calvary Baptist Church in Hastings. Her life included ministering to the elderly through the establishment of senior housing and health care at Haven Homes in Hastings, Redwing, and Maple Plain. We will miss mom’s delightful laugh, her loving support during difficult times and her delicious cooking while hosting family on all special holidays.

Marie joins her husband of 62 years, Lester; her oldest daughter, Darlene; grandchildren, Caleb and Greta; and son-in-law, John Erickson in Heaven. She is survived by children, Jerry (Kris), Daneeta, and Dan (Andrea); several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and by her son-in-law, Harley Stauffer.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 1 – 2:30 p.m. at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, Hastings with a Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m. and a reception to follow. Interment will be at Roselawn Cemetery, Roseville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Guardian Angels of Elk River, World Vision, Compassion International or your preferred philanthropic organization.
